The Aquarium

On Wednesday, May 14 we went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy.  We went with Brandon's parents and sister Camille.  It was her birthday!  It was really cool and Clara really liked it.

Clara with her Grandma Nelson

The shark tank was really cool.  I put all four pictures up for our nephew Camden.  He loves sharks!

 Happy birthday Aunt Camillie!

Working on that walking thing.  She's getting so close!

 Looking at the birds.

Penguins!  Clara loved watching the penguins.  She sat and watched them for a long time.

We had lots of fun we promise. :)

10 MONTHS!

Every time I do a new post with how old Clara is, it freaks me out a little bit.  I truly cannot believe that it's already been 10 months since our sweet little girl joined us.  Each day is a new adventure and we love it.  She is growing so fast and changing every day.  Here are some... okay a lot, of pictures to show you. :)

I have to include both of these pictures because I feel like they show off her personality.  She is quick to smile and really is a happy baby.  She knows how to wave and thinks that the chorister in Sacrament meeting is waving to her.
She loves her Daddy!  Don't you love her crossed ankles in the firs picture?  In the second picture she is playing peek-a-boo with Brandon.  He stands in the kitchen and pops out from behind the bar and she watches, jumps, and laughs from the couch.  It's one of her very favorite games.
New shoes from Grandma Nelson!  Brandon's Mom is pro at crocheting and she made Clara these adorable little shoes.  I love them!
Clara loves climbing and getting into things that she shouldn't.  She loves climbing in her carseat.  in the first picture she climbed in but couldn't figure out how to get back out.  The middle picture is of her in our blanket box.  I'll be honest I put her in that one.  The last one is of Clara after she dumped out our pepper plants.. okay they were only seeds, we couldn't get the actual plants to grow but she loved playing in the dirt and eating it.

Speaking of things she's not supposed to get into.  Those would be all of our DVD's from one shelf on the floor.  The second shelf of our bookcase is a perfect height for her.  She'll just stand there and pull them off as fast as she can.
I mostly just really loves these pictures.  The cute owl in the second picture was given to her by one of my students from when I was student teaching in Rigby.

Sometimes we match not on purpose.   On Sunday's we all wear the same color which we plan but during the week it's pure happenstance.  I told Brandon and my Mom that I must dress us in whatever mood I'm in for the day.

Our little model baby.  My Grandma brought this dress for Clara from Mexico.  I really is so cute, especially on such a cute little girl.

Another favorite thing is to look at herself on my phone.  I can flip the picture so that she can see herself and she thinks it's so funny.  Actually she cracks herself up all the time.  She really thinks that she is hilarious.
She got to have her first sucker on Monday, May 19.  It was a strawberry ring pop.  She loved it until she threw it off the high chair and it shattered all over my Mom's floor...oops. I also let her feed herself yogurt for the first time.  As you can see, there is more on the table and outside of her tummy then on the inside.

We went for Clara's first hike up Logan Canyon.  She LOVED it.  This little girl loves being outside as you can tell in the next picture.  She did really well until we were on our way back and the wind was in her face.

Two days after our hike Clara started to get a runny nose.  We had gone for the hike Tuesday and to the Aquarium in Sandy on Wednesday, (pictures to come), and she's getting some more teeth up top so I thought it was probably one of those things that was causing the runny nose.  Then on Friday she was really sad, fussy, snuggly, and tired.  Not only were those things not normal but she also had a fever.  Again I figured it was just teething so I gave her some Tylenol and held her all day.  Then Saturday she was still so sad as you can see in the first picture and she still had a pretty high fever.

Finally, I took her temperature again and it was 102.9 so I decided that we should probably go to the Dr.  When they took her temperature it was 103.4.  Our poor little girl had her first ear infection.  You can see in the second picture that she is totally passed out on my lap.  If she wasn't so sick I would have enjoyed the cuddling a little more.

She's feeling much better now which you can see in the next picture.  She stole Daddy's wallet and tried to get the money out.  I told Brandon that we should probably get used to it. :)

(You can see that she isn't holding onto the table as she stands there.  She is going to be walking any day now and it both terrifies me and makes me really excited. :))
